On Monday, October 5, Don will moderate the panel, “Storm Clouds Ahead? Extreme Weather, Rising Insurance & the Mortgage Industry,” with José joining as one of four panelists.

The discussion will explore the growing impact of extreme weather events, rising insurance premiums, and limited insurance availability across parts of the country. Panelists will examine what these challenges mean for home values, insurance affordability, lenders and mortgage servicers, including DTI concerns, underinsured properties, and lender-placed insurance.

The conversation will also look ahead to what these evolving trends could mean for the housing market in 2027 and beyond.
