Breckenridge Insurance Group COVID-19 Pandemic Business Continuity Update

Dear Clients and Partners,

It’s an understatement to say that all of us are living through challenging times with the ‘double whammy’ of COVID-19 and a global economic slowdown. Our first hope is that you and your family, and our team members across the country, remain healthy above all.

Despite our collective challenges, we have taken several necessary steps to ensure you and your clients receive responsive and professional service during this time. Our business continuity pandemic plan has been implemented and we’re focused on doing our part to not only serve your business needs, but to serve the greater good.

To sustain business operations, we’ve tested remote work capabilities for our employees and have begun to implement Work-From-Home (WFH) support for many, particularly as an increasing number of school systems and government actions are announced. In our Insurance Services Division, all of our teams—whether brokerage, binding or programs—are largely working remotely or are in transition now so, very simply, we are committed to serving your business throughout this pandemic.

In our Financial Services Division, we handle on average 60,000 lender and mortgage servicer insurance calls and web lookups a month. This business was built on an advanced technology infrastructure that allows complex operations—including data entry, payment processing, call center activity and support of our proprietary tracking technology—to be handled remotely when needed. We’ve recently “stress tested” these remote work and vendor support capabilities and have set forth an array of work-from-home (WFH) and CDC-recommended social-distancing practices.  We anticipate further actions will be warranted but we are indeed, as are our partners, committed to serving your business throughout this pandemic.

We’ve already had to make several difficult choices, as have all companies in these last few weeks. We’ve cancelled or postponed several of our own educational and business development conferences and appreciate the support of our partners in doing so. We’ve taken significant measures in terms of possible exposure risks from travel to mass transit and no office visitors, to changes in sick leave and self-quarantine for employees and exposure to at-risk household members. We are focused on the health and well-being of our team now and into the future.

It’s not an easy time for any of us personally, but we will persevere as a company, a society and a nation. We are here to be of help professionally and collectively to support the “flattening of the curve” as we face this crisis head on. As we continue to work together and take proactive and protective measures, we can all hope for the best outcome in the shortest duration possible.

Sincerely,

David A. Jordan
